Mollie and Claire’s Lace Leaf Shawl KAL

Yes please I thought when Claire from Mollie and Claire offered to do this KAL.

Lace Leaf Shawl KAL 1

I am a little behind but wanted to show that I have started and will be focussing on catching up over the next few days.

It was rather lucky that I had this colourful yarn in my stash and have been wondering what I could use it for. It is rather fine for me to knit with but I feel it is perfect for this KAL. I hope Mollie approves.

Lovely, cheery colours – I’ve just finished mine and it is currently being blocked so I can show it soon:)

Wow, you finished already! Are you going to make another one? My knitting skills are not great and I have to go steady or I make mistakes and have to frogg constantly.

Not just yet – I’ve found a lovely scarf pattern using the same type of yarn and have already bought it in seven different colours for Christmas presents. I know, I know, but a handmade Christmas starts as soon as the last one finishes! And anyway, you knit real Swarovski crystals into the design and I couldn’t resist it:)

Trouble is, whilst sewn gifts are quick to make, knitted and crocheted ones take ages and I make for at least twenty people for Christmas so I have to start early! We always host as well, so December is spent planning food and sleeping arrangements for them all – no time for crafting:)

I am so pleased Mollie approves, she is welcome to sleep on it anytime if she fancies a trip to the seaside. I am just happy to have got it started, I have been looking forward to joining your KAL and doing some knitting for a change.

Thanks, it’s very satisfying finding a use for yarn that you have had kicking around for a while. I usually knit with much chunker yarn so it grows quickly, unless it’s for babies and of course then I use DK.
