I loved this bird as soon as I saw the pattern and just knew I had to make one, and now I have made one I want to make another!
I made all the African Flower Pentagons before starting to join the bird together.
First I made all the yellow centres, then the turquoise flowers followed by the yellow trim.
Finally the blue rounds were completed.
I have always fancied making one of Heidi Bears animal patterns but thought it wise to start with a small one just to break myself in, next be the Stegosaurus!

It’s lovely. I’m on hippo number five of the Heidi Bears pattern at the moment, but I do the join as you go rather than sewing them all together.

Thank you. I did the join as you go when I made the Stegosaurus pattern, it really does work well and is much easier than I anticipated. Just popped over for a peek at your lovely Hippo’s, gorgeous colour choices.

The pleasure was all mine, it’s always good to make new friends who share our love of all things woolly. I was taken with your jellyfish mobile as we had a giant jellyfish in our yarn bombing at the surgery last year, that was a fundraiser too for our local hospital and hospice.

I do know what you mean, it is a love it or hate it design but I do think it is an eyecatcher whatever ones personal view is. I think that the Stegosaurus will be a feature in this years yarn bombing as we are having a dinosaur theme.

I appreciate your honesty, it is a design that you either love or hate but what I do think is that it is striking whichever emotion it hits in people so I think the Stegosaurus will be a good addition to the dinosaur theme at the yarn bombing.

I will post soon about this years themes, dinosaurs is one of 5 themes. I just feel a little embarrassed because everyone was so generous last year it feels cheeky to be asking for help again.

I like the dragon too but have opted for the Stegosaurus as we are including a dinosaur theme in this years yarn bombing. I have just finished him so will be posting soon.
