I have some squares left over from one of the girls blankets so I thought I would join them together and make them into a cushion cover.
But they would need a back…………., then I remembered a pattern that I found called Apache Tears that I have been wanting to try. Yes I think this is going to work just fine.

It really is lovely to work up apart from all the ends, but I would stop and sew them in as I went along every 6-8 rows. I have just posted my finished cushion too so you can see it finished if you would like.

I can definitely recommend it, the only down side is sewing all the ends in as you start every row from the right hand side but I keep stopping and am sewing them in as I go.

It was new to me too, that was why I could not resist trying it out. On another note how much sugar to you use per lb of blackcurrants to make your jam? And do you use jam sugar or regular?

My recipe is 1kg black currants simmered in 600ml water for 15 mins. Then add 1.5kg of normal granulated sugar (or golden granulated ) and stir til dissolved then hard boil for 5 mins then test. You can use preserving sugar but not the one with added pectin. Black currants have their own pectin
